Did you verify to which /dev/input/event<x> the touchscreen is linked ?
Attached is my config file (kernel 2.6.20-hh1). You should compare this
one and yours.

ok, so aximx50_ts and ts_adc_debounce at least are loaded.
Are your sure to have loaded ads7846_adc_ssp ?
