Richard,
I work at St. Marys University (StMU) in San Antonio (Dell is in
Austin Texas, USA), and I used to drive by Dell daily when I worked
        at IBM in Austin.
StMU has contracts with Dell (for laptops and other equipment) so
the requests would be coming from a customer, and might get
a little attention... unfortunately most of our
contacts are sales types. Would knocking on their door help? ;-)

Since the Dell X50s are in competition with the HP Ipaqs,
which run Linux, and has development support of HP, they
might consider co-operating in the context of StMU is
considering buying more PDAs and the Dells currently don't
run Linux and the Ipaqs do.

Since Dell is not the manufacturer, does Dell have the technical
        expertise?

Also I copied the files from [http://www.bfamily.us/~richard/tmp/arm/]
        to StMU's Debian mirror box ( http://natasha.stmarytx.edu/x50/ ) .
As a one shot I used wget --mirror. I'd prefer rsync if
possible. How often should I check for changes? Daily? Or would
you prefer a push rather than pull arrangement?

Now the bad part, I don't have much time either, otherwise I'd
have more of the X50 working, but it isn't part of my official work,
but at least my x50v does boot Linux (but not reliably), so I
        am better off than some.
