RE: Changes in hardware ?

Hi,

Just bought a brand new X50 512MHz and has barely removed its plastic
wrapping before attempting to boot a kernel on it. You know how it is ;-)...

Reading the digest for the last month or so, I really did not expect any
troubles booting the kernel. Boy, was I wrong.
I simply can not get the kernel up and runing, all I get is a penguin with
red eyes looking like a sunday hangover. Has tried all the different
haret.exe's I could find, several zimages from the net and own builds.
Nothing. No serial output (serial cable is good, tried it with a serial term
program), no console, nada, nothing. All I can see when putting an
oscilloscope on the serial out is the the UART appears to initialize, and
haret's output on port 999 stops with "goodbye cruel world".

So, the big question is : has Dell changed the hardware of the X50? Or does
anyone have an idea of what to do next ?
