Okay, well this is a start.

So to take stock, here are resources that I have recalled, beyond this
list:

http://www.handhelds.org/projects/aximx30.html - Quick Specifications
page.
http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/AximX30 - Axim30 Wiki Page - Last
edited in May 2006. This also has a list of members, people waiting for
the port. Maybe a candidates/contributors section would be handy.
http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/AximX30Status - The Status page
was last updated in November 2006.

Sadly the pictures someone had of the PDA with its guts exposed are no
longer live. I am more than happy to allow anyone asking to host images,
video, schematics etc relating to this to pop them on a gallery at
orionrobots (my robotics/tech site). If we spot any other bits like
those images that might be handy in identifying and cataloguing the
hardware, lets collate them somewhere.

The files Giuseppe had posted are also now offline. Again - I will try
to track these down, and pop them into a dumping ground on OrionRobots.
There are files at
http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/AximX30Downloads

I am not sure where the source for whatever drivers/modules have been
added into that are, or if it is just a particular combination of known
drivers that have already made it onto the kernel source tree.

The mailing list, at some point or another has had people declare they
can help out in some way or another. I am a coder, a Linux user, but I
know little about the kernel or PDA hardware yet. This does not mean I
cannot make a start.

I have got HaRET on my Axim, and have been able to Telnet in. I will try
to start seeing if I can mine some more useful info. This is available
from the Downloads page
http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/AximX30Downloads

To use it, run the exe on the PDA itself, and then do the "listen for
network connection" command, then telnet into port 9999 on the PDA. To
get the PDA's IP address, I had placed HaRET.exe on a local apache site
for the PDA to download it, so I then tailed the apache access log to
get the PDA's IP.

Cheers,
Danny
