Hi,
I too have an X30 (high) which is currently sitting in my car with its
batteries completely flat and without use for a seriously long time now.
In the end I just got far too frustrated with the horrible OS on it, its
constant crashes, anti-intuitive interface, and an almost complete lack
of open software development community and tools to develop with.
I would love to be able to participate in testing and helping out with
getting linux working on the device. Sadly, and I'm sure this is the
case for many others, I have very little free time nowadays. As much as
I would like to, I don't have the hours available to investigate kernel
programming at the level required. (I've done a bit a few years ago on
file system drivers, which are probably the easiest and best documented
part of the linux kernel, even so, it took me while to get done what I
needed!)
However, I do think I'd be able to find/make the time to do some testing
and proper bug reports, and give the unit one last chance for a return
on investment. So if there is anyone out there with the needed kernel
programming experience and a bit of time, please count me in too!
Failing that, the Nokia N800 is looking very appealing at the moment!
Cheers,
sam
