not sure about usbnet, in the handhelds kernel it is
currently broken :( and i cant remeber anyone who got
it to work, i have a feeling it might be a problem in
the initrd so that might be the first place to look
just loop mount it and have a look inside, make sure
the correct modules are there
programming wise i dont think we need people yet, its
a shame about the wifi card however we still might be
able to hack somthing together, what we need at the
moment is to work out how to unlock the flash partion
and map LED's. sounds like a boaring job but its quite
satisfing when you get it done
to do this load haret on our pocket pc under win ce
and connect to your pc, then telnet into the device,
thereare commands for dumping regesters and modifing
them. what you have to do is fiddle with the gpio's
untill you notice somthing hapening such as an led
going on/off, and try pushing butons and reading the
registers before and after to work out how the buttons
are mapped (there is also a button for the sd card)
once we have a working kernel with hardware support
for most things (eg sound) and flash write support
then we efectivly have linux running on it and could
quite easily install somthing like familiar on it, we
just have to get to that stage
at the moment bluetooth should work out of the box,
sound can be salvaged from the x3 project after a bit
of clean up however we should try and merge it into
the new alsa SOC driver, the touchscreen and FB should
work, buttons will need suport written for them and
the SD card slot should just work as well, flash is a
bit tricker but it should also work out of the box
thanks to the great support in the kernel, however it
will only work once we get rid of the write protect
switch connected to the gpios
sorry for the long post but you might also want to
grab the pxa270 manual for register
names/definitions/locations for use with haret
