danny is correct, at the moment there is no one
working on it at all as far as i can see, as for the
install, a single monolitic install to cahnge from one
os to the other is next to imposible as upgrading the
firmware involves the user in some way

you can use windows to boot linux but it is like
performaing a hard reset when you quit linux as linux
uses all mem for programs and none for storage as well
as some other issues

if i still had the x30 i would be working on it now
trying to get it running, i belive there is very
little in the way of programming left only coping
values to locations and locating drivers, iif your
intrested do a search in the mailing list
