Haret is a bootloader and testing tool that allows you
to boot into linux from windows mobile, you use
windows mobile to get everything set up and working
(the windows boot loader does this) then use haret to
boot into linux until you work out how to get by
without windows
until you replace the flash everytime you reboot you
will go back to windows mobile as you load linux off
of a sd card. the only problem is that it wipes your
data in ram (not in flash) so its like a hard reset,
but if you backup to flash then restore you should be
fine this is because linux uses all the ram as ram and
not a hard drive/ram split (even if you set it up like
that (tmpfs) you will lose the windows stuff)
as nothing is permenent there is very little risk of
doing anything unrecoverable (unlike when i flashed my
x30 to the unoffical A03 firmware and permently lost
my flash partion, i upgraded to A05 and still didnt
get it back)
the advantage of that flash partion is that in the
future we could be able to dual boot by putting linux
in the 2nd flash partion (the one you can store files
on) as long as you back up windows mobile to an sd card
