Good thoughts. That would explain a few abnormalities I have seen, and
it would certainly be nice if it is true.

One interesting tidbit that I don' know how to interpret: I can run
haret in normal video mode on my x50v, but if I use sevga or ozvga to
set it to the higher res (it normally runs a fake QVGA with better
quality), haret won't even try to boot linux. I would think that the
display would be configured the same either way, just the way it's used
would be different, but I don't know. interesting to think on.
