x50 people

There are many people wanting to do something for the x50 port lately. I
don't own a x50, but i've done some research for the x30. Almost all
drivers to support the x30 are already written, and just need to be
ported. I've done some things, but it is just a lot work (also the support
for the different axim's is messed together, so that needs to be figured
also). I think the x50 might bring some real problems, it has a 3d card
for example, i don't know any drivers for that (i don't know what kind of
3d card it is), but basic functionality sould work on the axim x50 as soon
as it does on the axim x30. (and visa versa)

Also, the x50 wiki http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/DellAximX50
shows us fisherss and Richard are working on it. I haven't spoke them (i
don't watch the x50 wiki page very close), but i really like to speek to
them. I don't know if they succesfully booted anything already, but i
heard the x50 is capable of booting. And i think i can help at least
getting there. I'm not much further with the x30 myself. (mmc works,
touchscreen also, but not together :( ), x50 has a CF slot, maybe that
helps debugging that problem.

I figured out at least the basic drivers can be ported without much
problems (like bluetooth, usb-client, ir and sound/touchscreen), wifi
should be possible also, and thats it for the x30, the x50 has some more
features, but when we get all the others working, the biggest part is
done.

I haven't done much lately, but i might pick things up in a couple of days.
