Well its good to see the list has picked up a bit,

sorry for not replying quickly but my internet accsess
was cut off for several days so i was unable to check
my mail

at the moment there is a todo list at our wiki page
(http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/AximX30), i
see Ian has added to that, thanks

as a side not i belive there was a news article about
an SD Card/SDIO software stack for linux, may be worth
looking into. it would be good if you could have the
option to buy it sepeartly

anyway i have a kernal image that i am going to try in
the next couple of days, as for the config file just
start with a minimalist setup and add support for
things that may look handy (ie pcmia card support
and/or USB host as i belive the wifi card is hanging
off one of those)

at the current point in time the usb gadget drivers
are trowing errors at me so you will probelly need a
serial cable, if anyone has any idea how to make one
of these could they post the details?

as for the bootloader i may be getting ahead of myself
but the bootloader should make it easy to load an
image into flash, i have curretnly stuffed my 2nd
flash partion (built in storage) when i upgradded to
the Dell A03 Rom, there are currently no tools for
window CE to format flash, however it does bring up
the idea that we could dual boot with linux in the 2nd
flash chip (meaning you loose the built in storage)

you would have to back up your data but you would be
able to switch bettween the 2 (as long as you back up)
AFAIK the boot loader cannot be over written however i
will try and verify this as it makes a rom update as
easy as a file on a vfat partion (ending with a .nkf
extension) confirm this for yourself by downloading
the ROM update from dell and looking throgh the files
it unpacks, ther should be 2 32MB files copy these to
your SD card and goto the bootloader by pressing the
jog dial down, the power and the reset button all at
once (note you will lose all your data)

well thats all the info i have, most of which is
already known, i hope to be able to get a working
image (that can be uploaded with an SD card) soon,
lets just see how that image i made goes

-----------------------------------
Please dont take anything i say for granted, this is
my first linux project and i hope it all goes well, i
am willing to hose my pda but not others so i will
only relase everything ive done once ive tested it at
least once to ensure it wont hose others PDA's,
hopefully the bootloader should save me :)
