It was literally one or two small changes to the kernel config, all in the
same place - looking at it, it seems like I was enabling
CONFIG_INPUT_TOUCHSCREEN, CONFIG_TOUCHSCREEN_WM97XX and
CONFIG_TOUCHSCREEN_WM9712 or similar options (i.e. the support for
touchscreens, WM97XX touchscreens, WM9712 touchscreens or similar options in
menuconfig; I think they might have changed slightly in newer kernels) I did
this by running a make menuconfig in the directory where OE builds the kernel
(can't remember where exactly, sorry, too long ago) and then copying this
over the one in the OE tree
(org.openembedded.dev/packages/linux/linux-handhelds-2.6-[version]/asus730/defconfig).
Hope that helps, and sorry I can't remember exactly.
Michael
