I got exactly the same error for the latest image (which contains kernel
2.6.16 IIRC). The problem is that the kernel has no CF (ide?) support
compiled in, so only booting from SD works.
I used the kernel from the older release, and that worked fine.

BTW, is there are any active development for the A716 platform?
