Hello!
I know this is slightly OT, but really I hope someone can help me with my A716:
before I try installing Linux, I need to try recovering the data on the palm.
Some time ago, I left the device sitting for a month with a 1GB CF card inside (and a
fully charged secondary battery). When I turned on the palm again the battery was dead;
no prob, I reconnect to the charger and... everything was gone! I mean, the MyPal reset
to a state I have never seen before, even the default Asus customizations/programs were
gone!
Now my question: is there any way to 1) boot the MyPal off an external CF card and 2)
be able to access the on-board memory in order to make a dump (like you would do with a
hard disk, using dd)?
Since most of the stuff I lost are .txt files, I guess the memory dump would be
acceptable.
Any ideas are highly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
