Ok i have spent the last few days trying to get linux to boot on my Asus
a716 PDA. No go i have the following files put on the PDA's "Flash
Disk" Directory.
intrd_cf
Mypal716_Linux
params.txt
zImage
I would like to also note I had a hell of a time with fdisk to write to
the compact flash card i am using. So i figured i'd try a long shot and
download QTParted. Detected drives, and compact flash device. Selected
he CF CARD, and told it to format it as ext2. Wrote like a champ. Sync
the drive to make sure everything was cool. Then mounted card to linux
system...
mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/cf
cd /mnt/cf
tar xfvj opie-image_latest.tar.bz2
Uncompresses to /mnt/cf where the cf card is mounted.
then the following commands afterwards
Sync
cd ..
umount /mnt/cf
-----------------------------
Now everything should be on the card, rebooted to just make 100% sure
everything was done correctly.... remounted cfcard under linux, checked
file system and files everything checked out ok.
Insert CF CARD into PDA
goto. flash disk loaded the linux loader.
Boots past the white screen.
